Past tense[edit]

“Jeolla was located in …” – what? Isn't it there anymore?

Except for the Culture section near the bottom, this article uses the past. I think most people say “전라도” instead of “호남” or even “서남부 지방” when they talk about this area (not as an administrative entity), and this article should reflect that usage. The same problem perhaps affects similar articles.

Uninformed people who follow a link in, for example, the People's Republic of Korea article will be surprised to learn that its units were active in a province of the Joseon dynasty. If you insist that 전라도 is a thing of the past, we'd have to change a few links from Jeolla to Honam to avoid anachronisms, although I think we should go with the term people use. Wave of Ilbe-style vandalism in several South Korea-related pages[edit]

In the last few days there have been several articles vandalized with claims that Jeolla and Gwangju are pro-North and that pro-democracy protestors were traitors to South Korea. This is in line with typical trolling from Ilbe, which is like the Korean 4chan. Please revert any changes like this, and be extremely cautious of any claims of "pro-North" activity or "rioting" in South Korea. Kondratev (talk) 12:00, 1 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Racist attitudes against this region[edit]

Could the racist attitudes against this region from South Koreans be mentioned/explained in the article?--Adûnâi (talk) 17:26, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
