Buddhala[edit]

Joke. As can be checked on Google, every word in the article is spurious. The author was active vandalazing (see his history at Special:Contributions/66.210.50.50 , e.g. replacing "Constantinople" by "Buddhala" in the Istambul entry of the Wikipedia). --French Tourist 19:15, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • That's the worst misspelling of Siddhartha Gautama I've ever seen. Delete. --Aponar Kestrel (talk) 01:30, 2004 Oct 12 (UTC)
  • Mildly amusing hoax, Delete. One of the side effects of years of VfD entries will eventually be to teach people how to perpetrate hoaxes: the survival of the fittest ones. I wonder how many hoaxes have made it past us. — Bill 13:33, 12 Oct 2004 (UTC)

As a practicing Buddhist, I can vouch for the authenticity of this information. Granted, most of it is obscure, but that does not qualify it as a "hoax." (66.210.50.50)

Note that the same one who wrote the above vandalized Gautama Buddha. andy 17:42, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Attempting to delete this page seems like a ribald act of racism, imo. Unfortunately, articles extolling the virtues of white anglo-saxon culture are not the ONLY articles welcome on an open wiki; we need to learn to appreciate the diversity that this internet community affords us. This includes articles that we may find unusual, surprising, or even "jokes" (as one member implies above). Please do not delete this cross-cultural reference point from our Wiki community. Thanks! - Unregistered User (198.81.26.41)

Note that somebody using the same AOL IP address than this "Unregistered User" vandalized Harrison Bergeron four minutes after the previous comment was added. --French Tourist 13:39, 14 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Hi French Tourist, This is the "unregistered user" who posted above. Unfortunately, IP addresses can be shared by multiple users. I did not vandalize the Harrison Bergeron page, although that happens to be one of my favorite Kurt Vonnegut stories ;) (198.81.26.41)

Note: anon 198.81.26.41 just vandalized this page. I think it is reasonable to assume/guess that 198.81.26.41 and 66.210.50.50 are one in the same vandal. func(talk) 03:42, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
