Vidette is a city in Burke County, Georgia, United States. The population was 103 in 2020. It is part of the Augusta, Georgia metropolitan area.

History[edit]

The Georgia General Assembly incorporated Vidette as a town in 1908.[4] The town has the name of one Dr. Vidette.[5]

Geography[edit]

Vidette is located in western Burke County at 33°2′13″N 82°14′55″W / 33.03694°N 82.24861°W / 33.03694; -82.24861 (33.037027, -82.248589),[6] 14 miles (23 km) west of Waynesboro, the county seat.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.0 square mile (2.6 km2), all land.[7]

As of the 2010 United States census, there were 112 people living in the city. In 2020, its population declined to 103.
