Untitled[edit]

Just to explain my edit... please see User:Sannse/Grammy to-do list for my current thinking of the awards for the jazz section (not fully checked yet). I've separated out the instrumental and non-instrumental awards, Grammy has quite a mix of these in their listings. That's why this one doesn't go right back to the 1st awards.

I also changed the links to year pages to show the whole title rather than just the year. This follows the Music standards advice of not pipe-linking years (that refers to "years in music" pages, but I think the same should apply to Grammy years).

The other change I've made is to move the page to the most recent award title. I think this is best rather than have a separate article for "...Album...", with Grammy's anoying tendency to switch names it keeps things together as much as possible (I know this breaks links at the moment but I'll fix that as I go along :)

For 1979-1992, is it really Best Jazz Instrumental Performance, Group or Best Instrumental Jazz Performance, Group? This page says one, but the yearly Grammy Awards pages say the other.

It's Best Jazz Instrumental Performance, Group according to the information at Grammy.com - I haven't gone through checking and correcting the award names on the year pages yet for jazz (I've done up to the "historical" field so far). I originally used names I thought were correct, not realising just how much they changed over the years. Since then Grammy have updated their database and it seems more complete - so I've been working through, correcting the year pages as I check/create the individual award pages. So any awards from "jazz" to "world" may not yet be in quite the right format on the year pages. I hope this makes sense -- sannse (talk) 23:10, 1 Mar 2004 (UTC)
