Swiveling pylons[edit]

"Each wing was equipped with four underwing pylons. The inner two pylons on each wing rotated to align with the fuselage, while the outer two were fixed."

According to the cutaway drawing I have here, all four pylons were equipped to swivel, it even shows the mechanism in the wing that synchronizes them. Is this a figment of the artists imagination? Then shortly later in the same text the article says "the outer pylons could not be used with the wings _fully_ swept". This seems much more plausible then that they just gave up after making the inner pylons pivot with the wings. Idumea47b (talk) 00:28, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A cutaway drawing isn't necessarily a reliable source. All the sources I've ever read confirm that, of the F-111's 8 wing pylons (4 per side), only the inner 4 pylons (2 per side) could rotate, and that the outer 4 pylons (2 per side) were fixed. Ultimately, that's what we have to go by, what reliable, published sources have said. BilCat (talk) 00:47, 16 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

F-111 coming to warthunder[edit]

I don't know how to edit pages correctly so I am posting this here for others to do but under "appearances in media" a section needs to be added about its addition to war thunder
