Flag of Moldova[edit]

Please don't change the flag of Moldova with this one: Image:Flag of Moldova.svg, because that is completely wrong:

  • wrong coat-of-arms (the eagle looks like a chicken),
  • wrong width/length ratio,
  • wrong shades of the colours, etc

Thank you, bogdan 22:19, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, you say etc, if there'd be many more reasons not to change the flag. well, i'll go on replacing the flag, cause i've put a message to the creator of the flag to make a new one. earlier or later, your flag (of which you say it's correxct) will be deleted. Schaengel89 22:27, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but why use a wrong version of a flag until then ?
BTW, how do you know who is the creator of the flag, since this flag was taken from a clip-art:
This image is from the Open Clip Art Library. All works included in the library are public domain.

Well, I guess (and hope) that he Nightstallion can change the correct version into SVG and reupload it onto commons. Schaengel89 22:33, 4 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Sure! How about on or before Monday? E Pluribus Anthony 11:58, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Very good! I'd be very happy; if you see the discussion above you'll understand. Schaengel89 12:00, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No problem: I've already read it and the official pages/specs. I completely understand — for example, observe the 'issues' with the prior (horrible!) and (now better) current images of the Canadian flag, the latter of which I helped to create and which I recently discussed with an inquiring mind. Stay tuned! E Pluribus Anthony 12:15, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I will! Schaengel89 12:17, 5 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hello again! I'm working on the flag and should have it ready tomorrow; forgive the delay (I've been neck-deep). :) E Pluribus Anthony | talk | 14:09, 10 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Er, TY. I'll get back to you in a couple days; I'm swamped at the moment. :) E Pluribus Anthony | talk | 14:35, 23 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Let me take a crack at the flag for Afghanistan, but I won't be able to get it ready until next week at some point. I hope that's OK. E Pluribus Anthony | talk | 05:47, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I cant see any problems. Schaengel89 12:45, 24 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ethiopia[edit]

What was you reason for removing the sidebox in the Ethiopia article? --Peter McGinley 13:30, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wasn't that correct? I thought they've been created for that. What do you normally do with those infoboxes here in en.wikipedia? Schaengel89 13:32, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Removing slabs of content like that can be considered vandalism. All countries have a sidebox like the one you removed. --Peter McGinley 13:33, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes but what is template:Ethiopia infobox exactly for? Schaengel89 13:35, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
My apologies, I've made an error. Your edit is perfectly acceptable. --Peter McGinley 13:38, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, no problems. Schaengel89 13:39, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for edit summary[edit]

Hi. I am a bot, and I am writing to you with a request. I would like to ask you, if possible, to use edit summaries a bit more often when you contribute. The reason an edit summary is important is because it allows your fellow contributors to understand what you changed; you can think of it as the "Subject:" line in an email. For your information, your current edit summary usage is 0% for major edits and 44% for minor edits. (Based on the last 150 major and 106 minor edits in the article namespace.)

This is just a suggestion, and I hope that I did not appear impolite. You do not need to reply to this message, but if you would like to give me feedback, you can do so at the feedback page. Thank you, and happy edits, Mathbot 12:00, 26 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Coat of Arms of The Netherlands[edit]

I am currently revising the page on this Coat of Arms of the Netherlands. In doing so I notice that the original arms Image:Nl-arms.gif has been marked as: This has been converted to Image:Netherlands coat arms large.gif. This image has in the meantime been replaced by Image: Coat_of_arms_of_the_Netherlands.png.

My questions are:

  1. Why?
  2. What wil be the consequence of this conversion?

The reason I ask this is that the Image:Nl-arms.gif is the verion that is actualy used by the Dutch Queen. The new version is, although nice, just another representation.

My proposal is that we switch the ,This has been converted to, around so that Image:Nl-arms.gif becomes the default image.

I hope you can help me with this.

Greetings Marcel

Hi Marcel. Pardon me for my late answer, but for weeks, I wasn't logged in in here. Your first question: It was done because the second image a) has a higher resolution, b) is a better file format for graphics and c) is an image from wikimedia commons, which is of course the main aspect. The consequences are, that only one image is used one image on all wikipedias, one of the most important goals of wikimedia commons. Schaengel89 18:34, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Edits you made[edit]

Why are you messing with my userpage? Paul.Paquette

Did I? I just replaced an image by an vector graphic. Schaengel89 15:02, 31 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
