No synopsis, please[edit]

[I'm coping this text from the discussion page of Second Bloody Valentine War, which can be seen as a sister page to this one, so the same should apply.]

I think this page should be an accurate chronology of the war. It should be narrated from a neutral point of view, something of a historical narration. As such, it should contain:

  • an introduction to the war
  • a chronology of events, main battles, alliances, turning-points
  • the outcome of the war
  • eventual treaties (if any).

For every event there should be the date and the place. For the battles, there should be info about the battle itself, such as deployed units, rules of engagement and the outcome.

This page, on the other hand, SHOULD NOT contain any of the following:

  • any reference to single episodes, mangas or other source material; this is a chronology of the war, not a collection of synopses
  • any information about the single characters, where not directly pertinent to the war as a whole; there shouldn't be an entire chapter for someones decisions/actions unless consequential to the whole war
  • any character's personal life events; these should go either on the Cosmic Era list of characters page or on the appropriate character's own page; these are not historical events
  • single dogfights between various gundams; these should be mentioned only when relevant to the entire battle (which is often the case), and shouldn't be described in too much of a detail (such as listing every move); if some dogfight is particularly unique, it should be put on the page of the defeated unit, under the fate subsection, not here
  • technical explanations of any kind; there are plenty of pages describing any possible ship, mobile suit unit, weapon and technology.

Please feel free to add your point of view, so we can all put toghether a set of basic rules and compose a nicer page.

Thanks to all. [Note: This text is a edited copy from the talk page of Second Bloody Valentine War.]--IgorTrieste 12:51, 24 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Well, this page seems to be in a much better state than the Second Bloody Valentine War page. I would prefer if someone included some more specific information about what happened, though. [- Pkmatrix]

Maybe this should be expanded a bit?[edit]

While looking through this article, I've noticed that while it's pretty good, it's lacking a bunch of easily obtainable details, along with more general background information on the war itself. I mean, pretty much every article I've read on Wikipedia has a section that talks about the causes in some depth...why doesn't this one? Thus, I'm going to be expanding the article a bit in the near future. If anyone has any problem with what I add, just say so and I'll explain my reasons for adding it. --Pkmatrix 19:19, 7 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Uroboros - is this correct?[edit]

The name of Operation Uroboros may have been mistranslated, given that the correct spelling of the word is Oroboros (if this is the intended meaning). There may be appearances of the name written in the series, (I haven't checked), which would be the most correct source to follow. Of course, 'uroboros,' might be correct, but given the many different romanizations of names, the meaning may have been intended to be 'Oroboros,' and should be verified.

Deployed forces[edit]

Does anyone know where the infos for the deployed forced come from? For me they look highly speculative (except the unique units of course). Diabound00 09:04, 14 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
