Howdy. I noticed you've updated some sci-fi novels with ISBN numbers, but I think you've been misled (in just the same way I was) by Amazon. If one searches for a book there, they sometimes show its ASIN, rather than its ISBN. The ASIN works only on amazon, where the ISBN works there and at all the other vendors. So, for Consider Phlebas, amazon gives an ASIN of 1857231384, and BN gives an ISBN of 0553292811. Consequently the ISBN link you added there only works on amazon, not on BN and other bookstores. You also did The Golden Age, but that's a genuine ISBN, so it works okay. I eventually stopped using amazon as an ISBN source altogether, for just this reason. -- Finlay McWalter 13:45, 12 Nov 2003 (UTC)
Hmmm... I actually pulled ISBNs out of the books, since I only filled in the numbers of what was on my desk :-) But thanks for the hint. - Luke
