Um[edit]

Aside from the fact that the term "white radio-friendly rock and roll" is a somewhat inaccurate description of "Little Red Corvette" (a pop song with mostly synthesizers and drum machines) it's also a fairly abrasive, explicitly racial statement, even if the song did break Prince to the wider (white) rock audience.

This being said, it's an awkward, potentially offenseive inclusion, since Prince is not white and therefore has never technically made "white" music and categorizing certain songs in his catalogue as "white" is a potentially ugly and controversial thing to do-- in addition, not all radio-friendly music is "white" and not all rock is "radio-friendly"; also, "white" music is a vague, POV term and problematic concept, especially with regards to Prince, whose music was championed as being able to appeal to both white and black audience. I'm gonna revise the sentence since it--didn't exactly offend me, but annoyed me and struck me as way too abrasive and POV for an encyclopedia article, even if I understand the idea behind the phrase. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.247.109.101 (talk) 21:00, 16 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicting claims[edit]

A reader contacted Wikimedia to point out that there appear to be conflicting claims in two articles:

Can someone sort this out?--S Philbrick(Talk) 18:23, 5 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
