Named after H.[edit]

Jack Horner has several dinosaurs named after him.

Military Service[edit]

The article notes that Horner served in the Marine Corps, and then with Special Forces. I don't know of Horner's military background, but "Special Forces" generally means Army Green Berets. The USMC didn't have a dedicated special forces branch at the time (though they did have Amphibious Recon units, which were considered extra-elite in the Corps), and while I suppose it could be possible, I've never heard of a Green Beret unit that was composed of members from other services. I'd suggest that this section deserves a little more research and detail.

Dyslexia[edit]

The passing mention of dyslexia has been recently suppressed by Anon. User 69.145.242.224. If Horner does suffer from dyslexia, with all his record, it is a disservice to dyslexics to suppress mention of it. Unless it was misfounded in the first place.--Wetman 04:12, 23 Mar 2005 (UTC)

69.145.242.224 didn't remove the comment on dyslexia, but she did remove the comment about his medicore academic record. Since he apparently couldn't get a job in paleontology until the discovery of the Maiasaura, that's probably worth clarifying at some point. 68.81.231.127 13:58, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)
This is Jack Horner, and just for the record, my first job in paleontology was at Princeton University in 1975, three years prior to the discovery of Maiasaura. I was diagnosed dyslectic while at Princeton University. Achelousaurus horneri is a dinosaur I found that was named for me by Scott Sampson.

Jack Horner facts[edit]

Horner dropped out of College. His mind was always different from other students. He wrote, sometimes, backwards. He was the frist person to discover, with his friend Bob, the first person to find a North American dinosaur nest after a person in Montana showed them baby dino eggs. John or Jack?[edit]
