Why aren't all poetic metres discussed together as Old Norse poetry with redirects from each metre's name, and from Old Norse? That way people could learn about the subject. "The period" needs to be explicated just a little: pre-Christian period? 9th century? 7th century? 12th century? We're lost this way. Wetman 07:41, 19 Aug 2004 (UTC)

Hehe something similar occurred to me; what we need is a top level document as per your suggestion which discusses Old Norse poetry and puts it in context; the specific metrical articles which I am doing are kind of useful two ways; by direct lookup, and also to me as part of my building a model of what Norse poetry looks like to do work on the top level document. However, I am still grappling with many stylistic elements of Old Norse as it is, let alone having enough of a comprehensive overview understanding of the forms in play to write it. However, this will change over time and hopefully soon I will be able to do it the justice it deserves. However, I will make a start on the top level document and hopefully others will add to it. I think the specific metrical articles however should remain unmerged since they are useful in their own right. Sjc 07:50, 19 Aug 2004 (UTC)
