I don't see how "spray deck" and "sea sock" are different. If they are, could you explain how they are different? Joyous (talk) 21:31, August 23, 2005 (UTC)

A spray deck seals between the deck of the kayak and the waist/torso of the paddler. A seasock seals against the cockpit rim of the kayak, and goes intro the kayak, forming a sock into which the paddler puts his legs and lower torso. The aim of the spraydeck is to stop water to get into the cockpit, the aim of the seasock is to minimize the amount of water that can get into the cockpit. When using a seasock a sprayskirt is typically also used at the same time. Thus the design and use of the two are completely different. I hope this made it a little bit clearer.
