By my teacher:

  • (about showing a "sequence of error correction")
    • "Just make an error and then take a printscreen of it"
  • (about being presented a coursework)
    • "Where's your cover page?" (yes, that's right folks: we need to have a cover page. It isn't in the mark scheme. *sigh*)

From exam papers:

  1. A customer of a company wishes to connect to the Internet. Which one of the following is not required to access the Internet?
    1. Internet service provider
    2. Sound card
    3. Web browser
    4. Modem
    • Think carefully about number 3.
  2. In a data entry form, an example of a sensible and economical coding for a field asking if a person's age is over 21 would be:
    1. true false
    2. yes no
    3. Y N
    4. over under
    • I chose 4, thinking of making things clear to the user, and considering that I didn't know how the question was phrased. The correct answer is 3, because it takes up less space ("economical") on the computer. Apparently the exam board have never heard of ENUM-style fields.
  3. Damien works at a computer all day long. He has started to suffer from back pain. Which of these should he use to help reduce the back pain?
    1. An adjustable chair
    2. A copy holder
    3. A wrist rest
    4. An anti glare screen
  4. A thesaurus in a word processing application is used to:
    1. count the number of words on a page

    3. work out a calculation
    4. find a word of a similar meaning
  5. Which is a benefit of using robots in a factory?

    2. they don't need any maintenance
    3. they don't cost much to install
    4. they perform repetitive tasks efficiently
