True or false: there is an easy way to predict when this list will go down to a number near 0. (I always remove any live link whenever it appears, but leave all links that are still ghost links, and this allows the total to decrease.) 66.245.2.190 16:24, 6 Aug 2004 (UTC):

Interesting question - I think the answer is false as we don't know (and never will) is the number of articles wikipedia will contain when finished. The best I can give you are some summary numbers of 2nd August 2004

• Number of existing articles = 563830
• Average number of red links per article = 2.0079
• Number of distinct articles linked to by red links = 809858

So, the average number of links to each non-existant article is 563830 x 2.0079 / 809858 = 1.3979. If evenly distributed, the 'top' item on the most wanted list will have at least 1.3979 links to it after 809858 / 2 = 404929 more articles are written. You asked ;) - TB 19:12, Aug 6, 2004 (UTC)

What happened??

Uh oh! Until about 4 days ago, I've spent a lot of my time removing various live links in this list. Prior to my edit, there were a total of 175. Now, however, 4 days passed and there are still no live links to remove. What happened?? 66.32.255.239 21:57, 19 Sep 2004 (UTC)

It might be that Wikipedia:Most wanted articles was updated and people are working from there now. - SimonP 21:15, Sep 22, 2004 (UTC)
