Fifth fastest?[edit]

The article says that only two people have run faster than him, yet it also states he is the fifth fastest 400m runner ever. He is listed as 3rd on the 400 metres page. I'm confused. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.208.112.24 (talk) 09:47, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the question Fifth Fastest: Don't be confused the article states that his 43.45 is the 5th fastest performance but Jeremy is the 3rd fastest performer. MJ has three faster and BR has one faster. One performer can have multiple performances. Hope that helps. Shiloh49 (talk) 22:26, 19 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

400 meters 43.17 Osaka, Japan November 24, 2009 is currently named as his 400 metres PR, but that would be the world record, and I can't find any news that supports this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.207.198.202 (talk) 09:42, 3 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

First Caucasian since...[edit]

The article says the Wariner is the first Caucasian to win a gold medal in the Olympics since 1980. I suggest removing this sentence. Perhaps, it is a fact. But, so what? Who cares? If we plan to move forward as a society, we've got start looking past race. Including silly statements such as this one is divisive and regressive. I don't know the wikipedia interpretation on this, otherwise I'd have removed it already.

This is not looking at race...seems like society is running you. It is just a statistic. Look no further than that and you will not feel like it is offensive. He is just an acceptional athlete, and three African Americans behind him are damn near the same level, does race have anything to do with it? Hardly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.183.91.80 (talk) 01:09, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • He look Black and sounds Black. Though very fair skin. Likewise, the late August Wilson looks very white. Americans are very very mixed and only if we go by the one drop rule would they both be blackc LaidOff (talk) 19:09, 19 August 2009 (UTC)z[reply]
If we stopped talking about it we would be able to stop caring about it. Some editors find the ethnopedia tendency on here very silly. Hakluyt bean (talk) 16:35, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Height[edit]

Is he really 6'1"? Every mainstream source gives him 6'0", even. It's only the fanpages and other non-mainstream sources that give him 6'1" or even 6'2".
