I removed Ricky Bobby reference... after watching movie, I'm pretty sure he's from North Carolina somewhere pkomma 02:50, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation[edit]

I have corrected the statement that the name is pronunced "tallaDEEguh," which was obviously written by someone who has heard that mispronunciation on radio or television. The locals, who should know, have always pronounced it "tallaDIGuh".

Pronunciation 2[edit]

I was born in Talladega and both my parents are from Talladega, and we always pronounced it tallaDIGah, but I think the more correct Indian pronounciation is tallaDAYgah.

I don't know who you are,but I live in Talladega and it is correctly pronunced,"TallaDIguh".

I know for a fact,I've bleedin' lived 'ere since 1997!--Xterra1 19:28, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • Also knowing someone from that town, I can confirm the pronunciation of "TallaDIguh," with some closeness also to "TallaDeeguh." But, the popular pronuciation of "TallaDAYguh" is wrong. For some reason, the TV announcers and everybody else who covers the races, have re-written so to speak, the way you say it, and everyone not from the area thinks the locals are the ones who are wrong. What about the Presbyterian Home?[edit]

There's another landmark here in Talladega-the Presbyterian Home for Children. There's another one in North Carolina, but this is the original one. It is a landmark of Dega's history. Surely it deserves an article.--Xterra1 19:31, 15 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Li'l Help[edit]

I accidentally deleted the last digit of Smith Vance's birthdate, in Famous Taledegans. For some reason I can't access Edit History, so I don't know what I deleted. I'll try Google. ---Ragityman---69.171.178.25 (talk) 17:36, 30 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
