The use of the term "classical music" is odd in this sense. It is very easily confused with classical era music, and quite incorrect. There is very little that is classical or classic about Steve Reich, he is more progressive and "modern" than any popular musician. I tend to opt for the term "Art Music" - to me, this truly describes the collection of genres. --[[User:OldakQuill|Oldak Quill]] 10:01, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)

OldakQuill: Wikipedia is not a place to define new terms or concepts. Art Music isn't the common term for the subject so that's why it isn't used here. Sorry. :) --Sketchee 00:10, Dec 5, 2004 (UTC)

Commons cleanup needed[edit]

Hi. commons:Category:Classical music is completely unusable because so many things are in it. Someone who is knowledgeable about the subject is needed to sort things into proper subcategories. Jkelly 01:03, 21 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
