Of course Satish Kumar and his companion used ships to cross the channel and the atlantic, something I know all about myself; see Pet passport. I have changed the article but I think people can figure out for themselves that Satish did not cross water, no more than Jesus, so please do not vandalise my site--Scuiqui fox 20:52, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Wikipedia is no more "your site" than it is any of ours. And that was a valid question - people have walked on water (with the help of large flotation skis). Zetawoof 22:33, 25 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Kumar could not have walked across water in the sixties on Flotation skis because they had not been invented. Besides which you could have asked not 'did they walk on water?' but 'did they cross water on flotation skis?' If they had done so in the sixties across the Atlantic we would all know about it. At the very least your comment was absurd, and your excuses lame. It is not my wiki, but I have the right to keep it clean--Scuiqui fox 13:41, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)

"Enemies of Reason"[edit]

It seems to me that mentioning Satish Kumar's appearance in this program could be taken as unfounded criticism. Hence my clarification. I will revert to previous edit. Please discuss here if you object to my clarification. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Rohita (talkcontribs) 10:30, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Peace Tea[edit]

Why does Peace tea redirect here? Katrus (talk) 10:17, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It made more sense before the article was vandalised over the summer and most of it was deleted without explanation. Andy Dingley (talk) 10:33, 20 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Birth place, source?[edit]

It's unclear what the source "Kumar (2000)" refers to -- no way to verify. In his interview in Context, Kumar states that his birthplace was in a small village (unnamed) in Rajastan (not Madurai, Tamil Nadu) as indicated in the body of the article. Further information on the source & accuracy of this information would be helpful! Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 09:10, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Confusion confounded with recent change of birthplace (and date) to Pondicherry, referring again to undocumented (2000) source... Definitive source(s) needed! DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 21:27, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
There seems to be some consensus in the secondary sources about his dob (3 June, 1936). But two different interviews cite divergent place of birth (Madurai, Tamil Nadu; and "a small village in Rajastan", respectively). DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 19:50, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
RESOLVED, based on excerpt from Kumar's 2000 book, "Path without Destination: The Long Walk of a Gentle Hero." DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 20:14, 20 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Early life[edit]

I'm pretty sure the reference to Davinci is someone's left-over joke... Original reference? Gandhi? DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 11:08, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm unsure about the (ambiguous) reference to Edison, as well. Thomas Edison? DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 11:16, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Corrected. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 11:27, 15 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Schumacher Institute[edit]

Why did Satish Kumar name the institute he founded "Schumaher"? Why not "Kumar Institute"? or whatever
