Apart from the fact that those chess games are themselves controversial, may I suggest one obvious difference? The users involved there have made substantial contributions to the community and the project, and could be said to have earned a little relaxation as reward. I saw your posting on the village pump about not feeling welcome here. As I understand it, there were some misunderstandings earlier. Please don't get discouraged. Because of the ever-present problems of sockpuppets accounts, new users who make 'controversial' edits tend to recieve more scrutiny. Be aware that there are some people who take this project more seriously than others. I love to joke around on the wikipedia pages, but don't joke around in the articles. Just a very quick note: I fear I am one of those who assumed you were up to no good, and while you haven't exactly proven me wrong, I may have been hasty in my judgement, in which case I apologise. I am not, however, a sysop/admin, and would like to suggest that you are making an artificial distinction between admins/sysops and normal users in terms of behaviour: both "categories" contain people of all descriptions, although it is naturally hoped that those who gain sysop/admin status will mainly fall toward the "better" end of the spectrum.
