Countries around the world are experiencing different problems related to economic growth. One article i read somewhere stated that economic growth also depends on the spending attributes of countries.

American economy believes in the power of spending and is running into huge deficits and on the other hand Japanese culture is such that people there prefer to save. The aversion to spending is to such an extent that there is hardly any expenditure even when the real savings rate is NEGATIVE!!

One suggestion to induce the public to expend more could be....

Start minting coins of higher denomination... There is a little bit of human psychology involved here. When spending on something; its much easier to pay up a few change coins rather than breaking a note!!

Its just a thought. Others views are deeply desired!!
