Diagram Error[edit]

The first mechanism diagram has a minor error. The carbon 1 of the oxime starts off as a secondary carbon but switches to being a primary carbon in the 3rd step and remains a primary carbon until the end. I believe one of the 2 methyl groups attacheh to the primary carbon in the first 2 steps should really have been a hydrogen atom (which was indicated in the later steps).

Additionally the reagent should be NH2OH not NHOH2 as shown on the page, but it is correct when you click on the graphic - not sure how to fix this,

Numbering references[edit]

In my view Wiki has a problem numbering references.

  • you cannot use reference twice: the count continues regardless
  • including a url link will mess up numbering
  • get the right order for the references is a nuisance

You're right. Wikipedia has a rather poor mechanism for numbering references. However, without numbers it's not clear which citation goes with which reference. ~K 01:26, 27 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
