Was Francois de Beaufort duc de Beaufort? If not, can someone correct this page. If so, should the duc de Beaufort page be altered? Jonathan O'Donnell 22:48, 27 Mar 2005 (UTC)

My versions of Twenty Years After and The Vicomte de Bragelonne list him as duc de Beaufort in the list of historical characters and notes. Although Dumas may not have been totally accurate in his story, the notes and other commentary seems accurate. However, since we know little of those listed on the duc de Beaufort page, I think someone should research them a little before it is changed. Countmippipopolous July 18 2005

Hi,

Francis of Vendome carried the title Duke of Beaufort based on the following lists: http://www.heraldica.org/topics/france/roygenea.htm#henri4 http://genealogy.euweb.cz/capet/capet40.html

I found this material in French about the Duchy of Beaufort. http://www.montmorency-beaufort.net/dictionnaire_historique.htm (in French) http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.montmorency-beaufort.net/dictionnaire_historique.htm&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=9&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dfrancois%2Bde%2Bvendome,%2Bduc%2Bde%2Bbeaufort%26start%3D140%26hl%3Den%26sa%3DN (Google English translation)

I hope this web site of Francois Velde's on French heraldry will be helpful. http://www.heraldica.org/topics/france/ rajofcanada 13:42, 12 March 2007 (UTC)rajofcanada[reply]

The article says "He was a prominent figure in the Fronde" and yet there is not a single word about him in Fronde article... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.47.249.247 (talk) 18:24, 26 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
