The Humungous Image Tagging Project[edit]

Hi. You've helped with the Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax, so I thought it worth alerting you to the latest and greatest of Wikipedia fixing project, User:Yann/Untagged Images, which is seeking to put copyright tags on all of the untagged images. There are probably, oh, thirty thousand or so to do (he said, reaching into the air for a large figure). But hey: they're images ... you'll get to see lots of random pretty pictures. That must be better than looking for at at and the the, non? You know you'll love it. best wishes --Tagishsimon (talk)

NIDDK pages[edit]

Hey Elwikipedista, thanks for finding those NIDDK pages. I notice, however:

  • No disclaimers please. There are two disclaimer links on every page, and a third one is unnecessary.
  • The text is not copyedited at all:
    • Wikipedia should not address its readers. "You should eat more fiber" is very unencyclopedic. "Patients with constipation are usually advised to increase their fiber intake" is better.
    • There are no Wikilinks to the many related articles we have.
    • We don't need addresses at the bottom.

I'll try to clean up cirrhosis and constipation, but Wikipedia still suffers from old articles that have been copy&pasted without editing in the past. I'm trying to prevent this problem now. JFW | T@lk 08:39, 24 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Eponymous?[edit]

Hello. I fail to see what is in any way eponymous about the name law of large numbers. Large is not a person's name, and if it were, it would be capitalized. Michael Hardy 20:58, 20 Jan 2005 (UTC)

fy:Wikipedy:Ynfo[edit]

I see you created three of redirections like fy:Wikipedy:Ynfo on Fy:. Was there a particular reason for those? (Several changes in the software have resulted broken links in some places, but the lack of documentation makes it hard for us to know where.) Aliter 16:48, 18 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Relational theory & databases[edit]

I'm kind of confused why you made INGO a disambiguation page, but there's nothing being disambiguated, as there's only one term there. NickelShoe 01:12, 8 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

es interwiki on cite book[edit]

Hi, Elwikipedista. Re: [1]: I think this is not needed. The Spanish interwiki link is already on the template page itself. It was added in this edit and it is still there. The interwikis are usually added on the template page itself not on the talk of the template. Best wiki-greetings, --Ligulem 21:28, 9 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Template:Commons: Interwiki update[edit]

I made the changes you requested. Please let me know if I missed any. - EurekaLott 04:31, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article PostgreSQL Management Tools, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.

I am letting you know since you are the only person who has made several edits to the article. -- intgr 15:25, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

External Link - Tenka Text: an open-source (GPLed) corpus analysis tool[edit]

Hi, may I ask why you have considered it necessary to add "(GPLed)" to the link description? Is it positive or negative for a project to be GPLed or was yours a purely informative action? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.17.219.59 (talk) 13:24, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Creating disambiguation pages[edit]

I don't believe it's proper Wiki framework to create disambiguation pages when only one article by that name exists, as you did with Yutaka Yamamoto. If only one article exists, there is nothing to disambiguate, no matter how notable you think the person may be. Pairadox 20:54, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Typo redirect Lanceheads[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Lanceheads, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Lanceheads is a redirect page resulting from an implausible typo (CSD R3).

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Lanceheads, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot (talk) 17:31, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Elwikipedista! I was attempting to delete this redirect because it's a plural form of the term and wasn't being used. There was already a singular version in place. (PS -- Please answer here, as I've temporarily added your talk page to my watchlist). --Jwinius (talk) 19:39, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Argentum Online[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Argentum Online, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Argentum Online. Speedy deletion nomination of CEAN[edit]

A tag has been placed on CEAN requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, a rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
