What is a term "Italia" doing on this map? When did this term actually originate? Dalmatia is also much too north, I guess, at least one Gulf of Kvarner. --XJamRastafire 15:52, 19 Jul 2004 (UTC)
As far as I know, the first known appearance of the term "Italia" dates from the 5th century BC. In that period, this name only referred to the southern part of the Italian Peninsula. In the 1st century AD "Italia" referred to the land from the Strait of Messina to the Alps and its border is shown in the map.
As regards the province of Dalmatia, its northern border touched the Kupa/Kolpa river. Dalmatia encompassed Kvarner and a part of Istria too. Boraczek 08:02, 21 Jul 2004 (UTC)
