The article relates to the categories of Army and Air Force, so I added those categories. I think that the supercategory of US Armed Forces should be removed now, so that it does not belong to the sub-category and super-category. --Randolph 18:57, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Plagiarism?[edit]

A lot of this information looks like it's directly lifted from http://www.careercity.com/texis/company?Company=AAFES, with some minor alteration. The article (along with its original source) reads a lot like AAFES glorification than it does an encyclopedia entry, with only as many facts needed to make it a legitimate entry. AAFES manager bonuses and 65-85% profit ...[edit]

Looking for documentation (articles, etc.) on how AAFES manages their money. The various business entities on overseas bases -- Gas Station, Burger King, Popeyes -- consistently profit somewhere between 65 and 85%, and their managers are paid bonuses when they cause their facilities to maintain a certain level of profitability. Subjective[edit]

"AAFES does not charge taxes but compensates by raising the prices of all products sold and consider it profit."

This is not fact. If you knew internal workings of AAFES you would see that their margins reflect industry standards and they price match ANY local competitor selling the same make item for a lower price.

Censorship?[edit]

After noticing the addition to the censorship today I am inclined to change the name of that section. AAFES is not a governing body (despite servicing one), nor is it an outlet of journalism. Consequently by its very nature it cannot censor, nor can it be a venue of censorship. AAFES is free to choose whatever products it sells, just as any other business does, and despite their reasoning for doing so - it does not equate to censorship. Maybe term it Selective Product Omission, or Inventory Omissions or somesuch - although that could open a floodgate for info such as they carry Trojan and not Lifestyle. Thoughts?
