Formatting of Managerial history Section[edit]

Can anyone see why this section is appearing entirely on the right column, along with everything that comes after it including the references section.Auto98uk (talk) 16:23, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Found it, a "|}" had been accidentally deleted by an edit. Auto98uk (talk) 16:29, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Naming conflict[edit]

For discussion on the naming conflict Grimsby Town F.C. vs Grimsby Town Football Club see Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football Clubs/page name.

Ron Ashman[edit]

I've put up an article for Ron Ashman, however I have very few details about his spell as manager of Grimsby. If any GTFC Wikipedians have any details to add, please do so. Thanks. User:Demonicanglian

A note on British English[edit]

British English should be used for articles on Britain related topics. Likewise, American English should be used on articles pertaining to American topics. For a clearer example, please visit this sub-section on the differences between their usage. However, is" works better than "are" with the term club as it is a singular and not a plural noun. (Compare with the word team which is a plural noun) --Siva1979Talk to me 02:13, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dates & dashes[edit]

En dashes should be used in scorelines and only full dates and dates with a day and month should be wikilinked, including in the footnotes. See Wikipedia:Manual of Style (dashes) and Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Dates and numbers. Epbr123 20:52, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notable former players[edit]

Please note without a rationale for notability this section is original research and hence not suitable for inclusion in a Wikipedia article. Dancarney (talk) 08:56, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This section has been heavily edited but has still not provided a definable rationale for notability, it just seems to be whoever the editor(s) in question deem to be notable. How can Michael Appleton be a notable GTFC player, he only played 10 times for the club according to his article? Several other players appear to struggle greatly to meet any kind of notability criteria for the club. There's an awful lot of players in this section and yet none from the club's period in the top tier of English football - they're all from the 1990s–present.Dancarney (talk) 09:10, 6 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, this section is now ridiculous. What kind of notability criteria could Sam Hird or Shaleum Logan possibly fulfil? Unless this section provides some kind of criteria it has to be replaced with List of Grimsby Town F.C. players. Dancarney (talk) 13:44, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
