File source problem with File:Battle-City-Awesome.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Battle-City-Awesome.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 13:18, 15 July 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. feydey (talk) 13:18, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Battle City[edit]

I'm currently working on improving the Wikipedia page for Battle City (online game)! This is an open source game project started in 2004. Any help or advice would be appreciated. Weebo (talk) 12:46, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Weebo, I see you've worked on the Battle City article again. Are you able to address the issues raised at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Battle City (online game)? There are currently still no reliable secondary sources, so as it stands its very likely to be deleted again. Marasmusine (talk) 14:20, 15 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I will work on continually improving the article and finding more sources. Thanks. Weebo (talk) 14:09, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. You're right that no-one is contesting that the game exists. The specific issue is that it needs to be sourced from secondary sources (i.e. not the developers or publishers) - and ultimately this needs to be significant coverage to demonstrate notability. For games this is usually (but not always) reviews in magazines. You may find WP:VG/RS useful, which has a link for a custom Google search for reliable online sources. Leave me a message if you need help with this, otherwise I'll check back in a week or two. Best of luck, Marasmusine (talk) 19:41, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Battle City (online game), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. I have nominated Battle City (online game), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Battle City (online game) (2nd nomination). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Marasmusine (talk) 08:45, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
