Sonic Hedgehog[edit]

Sonic Hedgehog protein? What? Is that a joke? :S It's been there quite a while...

"This has been shown to generate a net leftward flow in mouse and chick embryos, and sweeps the Sonic Hedgehog (Shh) protein to the left, triggering normal asymmetrical development."

Nope, it is no joke. Sonic Hedgehog is a real protein, if I remember right it deals with the spacial orientation of organs, and explains the situs inversus found in Kartagener's syndrome. (D.c.camero (talk) 23:50, 23 March 2009 (UTC)) 23:48, 23 March 2009 (UTC))[reply]

Primary or not?[edit]

All information about cilia that I get from Wikipedia and otherwise say that primary cilia have a 9x2+0 axoneme and are immotile, and that the cilia in the bronchial ciliated epithelium are motile and not primary. In this article it all seems to be the other way round. How come? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.34.23.142 (talk) 21:29, 7 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

the ICD9 and ICD10 codes are wrong[edit]

Primary ciliary dyskinesia refers to disorder of cilia in the respiratory tract, but the ICD9 code 759.3 and ICD10 code Q89.3 both point to Situs inversus, which means a "defect marked by asymmetric position of visceral organs" [1]. I searched on ICD9data and found no entry for this disease, can we remove the wrong ICD codes for the moment?
