2005 comment[edit]

Wikipedia doesn't currently have a page skilled worker. Yet the article linking to it has a page linking to it! --T. Mc. 03:12, 1 Mar 2005 (UTC)

The original refering page to this page, "skilled worker" is:

Writing Style -- typos, long sentences and thoughtful writing[edit]

The last paragraph in the Overview section is incomprehensible. Someone should fix it or remove it. I'd do it myself, but it's after 3:00 AM and I'm too tired to try to understand it. --71.192.64.235 07:13, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge of Skill (labor) into Skilled worker[edit]

Not sure about merging. In the UK "skilled worker" indicates an employee status rather than simply ability. Traditionally it referred to a worker who had at least served some kind of apprenticeship, and the status was retained for life. A worker who had not had such formal training was labelled as "unskilled" no matter how long they had been doing it, and no matter what their ability level.
