7 o'clock news broadcast[edit]

I'm fairly sure that the news bulletin backing Silent Night is not an "actual" news bulletin, in that it was a collection of recent news stories compiled by Simon and Garfunkel that were put together and read by an actor. I remember hearing Simon describing how they had difficulty finding an actor willing to read the script as it was fairly contentious for the time (Vietnam etc). So, the comment claiming a date of transmition is inaccurate and should be editied out really. The 7 O'Clock News/Silent Night article describes it as a simulated news bulletin, but doesn't supply a reference. RossPatterson (talk) 02:03, 26 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Scarborough fair[edit]

The intro mentions Scarborough fair having a "counter melody and text about a soldier". It should really be mentioned that this is based on Simon's song "On the Side of a Hill" which appears on his 1964 solo album The Paul Simon Songbook. 86.149.92.6 (talk) 12:43, 26 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
