Translation quality[edit]

[If you read the English translation, the opening sentence reads, literally, "I have no horse for ears."]

I have the english translation copy purchased 5-1-05. I cant seem to figure out what the above statment is referring to.

I have no answer to this mysterious saying. But I read about his book "Battle Royale" in an Amazon-comment, and it seems the English translation has been very poorly conducted. Maybe your quoted sentence is an error? The Amazon commentator suggested that the book had been translated by use of Babel Fish...

Strange. I read the English translation and I had no real problems with it. I mean, it wasn't fantastic, but it wasn't any worse than some things I've read by native English speakers. The worse thing I ever ran into was a one time accidental name switch.

Copyright issue[edit]

Sorry, I don't know how this wikipedia editing goes but from http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2972 is this quote: 'Director Kinji Fukusaku died of cancer only after the first day of this film's production on January 12, 2003. His son Kenta finished the directing duties. Despite all this, Kenta still claims this movie as his father's work.' Looks like you meant that guy.

Move to Koushun Takami[edit]

This person uses the name "Koushun Takami" in english: [http://www.amazon.com/Battle-Royale-Novel-Koushun-Takami/dp/1421527723/ref=pd_sim_b_1]. According to the Wikipedia manual of style for Japan related articles it should be under the name used by the person himself. JoshuSasori (talk) 11:48, 9 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicting hometown information[edit]

Japanese article says his hometown is Nada-ku, Kobe, while this article says he was born in Amagasaki. Amagasaki article states it is the hometown of Koushun. None of these claims have citations. --Saledomo (talk) 17:42, 31 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
