Anonymous correction of birthday is apparently correct: the Philadelphia Daily News announced a celebration of his 80th birthday in July 2004. -- Jmabel | Talk 07:25, Nov 5, 2004 (UTC)

The black economist continues: " 'Before there were food stamps,' [Chuck] said, 'people fed their families. Before there was federal aid to education, black kids went to college.' As for 'black English,' he called it a 'cop out' from rigorous standards.
