Should this not be merged with Canadian Forces? --Kaihsu 16:52, 25 Aug 2003 (UTC)

Maybe, but maybe not. I think this is simply a wikification of the CIA World Factbook's section on Canada, while Canadian Forces is the start of an order of battle. ugen64 22:19, Aug 31, 2003 (UTC)

Canadian Forces is just the name of the military, a combination of army, navy, air force, etc. I am pretty certain both pages are descriptions of the military, so Military of Canada should probably redirect there (but I know astonishingly little about the Canadian military, to be honest). In general, I'd say that Military of X should be everything military-related, including civilian government bits (DoD in US), while Canadian Forces and the like should be the actual military organizations themselves. Canada's integrated structure makes it plausible to merge the two (Military of USA has to be a veritable link farm by comparison), but separateness is a little more consistent with other nations. But the main problem is, most people generally take the CIA World Factbook and wikify it... I mean certain countries (US for example) have decent topics. I could do Canadian military summary, but it would be too in-depth (I would go into the organization of a CAnadian infantry battalion, probbaly...). ugen64 01:54, Oct 7, 2003 (UTC)

I say it would be worth merging the two articles. As Ugen's been doing with the US Army stories, then separate units could be broken out. I think we should use the "down two echelons" rule of thumb here. GABaker October 15, 2003

I think they should be merged. I can't think of any reason to have two articles Andrew Yong 10:30, 2 Dec 2003 (UTC)

I think it should be merged. In Canada we don't call our military the Military of Canada, we call them the Canadian Forces; it only makes sense. --bdiddy 08:31, 15 Dec 2003 (UTC)
