Possible hoax[edit]

A new editor recently swept through several General Hospital pages, adding the characters Robert Justin Scorpio, a supposed brother of Robert Scorpio, and Lindsay Maria Spencer, a supposed adoptive daughter of Luke Spencer and Laura Webber. I've heard no other mention of these characters, and have removed the information from the GH articles, but some of the info has also overlapped to the AMC articles, such as Leora Hayward, Alexandra Devane Marick, and Aidan Devane. I am not familiar enough to with AMC to know if these are real characters or not, so I thought I'd post here to see if someone wants to challenge the info. --Elonka 19:37, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Leora Hayward and Aidan Devane are definitely characters from the show All My Children, although Leora is dead, and given that she died as a baby, there isn't much to add into her character history. As for Aidan, he doesn't get much screen time on this show, unless the writing of this show changes to give him more screen time. Flyer22 21:08, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Alexandra Devane Marick is a real character as well. She is the identical twin to Anna Devane (from GH), and aunt to Aidan. Comings and Goings[edit]

You HAVE provided sources to back-up your claims, which is great. However, Eden Reigal's return has only been rumored. Over at SoapCentral, their "casting changes" section is only updated once a month or so, and since their last update, Regial stated in Soaps In Depth that she wasn't returning. Alec Musser, meanwhile, was only dropped to recurring status. According to many (Magazines, other sites, etc.), he probably won't be seen again. And, last but not least, whenever posting in the comings and goings section, you have to put the actor/actress' status, such as "Debuts, Exits, Returns".70.17.183.28 (talk) 07:12, 16 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Beth Ehlers[edit]

At this present time, Beth Ehlers should not be credited as Liza Colby. Soap Opera Weekly's cover story this week is that Ehlers has joined as Liza , but the SOD/SOW website states that as they went to press, the higher-ups were not sure if she would be playing that character or a whole other one entirely, so until everything is confirmed, we should leave it as Unknown.

End date[edit]

We cannot put "January 5, 1970-present" on the infobox because such edit would constitute a violation to our WP:NOTCRYSTALBALL guideline. The fact of the matter is that All My Children has ended on September 23rd 2011. It will likely return in 2012. But at the present, it is officially ended and nothing guarantees at 100% that it will be back.
We don't include informations about the future on an infobox. Instead, we wait for events to happen and then we updates the infoboxes after they have happenned.

I've been part of the fight to save All My Children since the cancellation notice-so my information on the show's possible relaunch through Prospect Park in January, 2012 may not be official, but it's the best I have at the moment. I understand your support for the show. But Wikipedia is not a place to voice personnal opinions. Wikpedia is also not a soap opera website and we do not make speculations. Instead, we edit based on facts and reliable evidences. All edits must be verifiable. An edit about a tentative date for AMC relaunch's is acceptable as long as it is backed with sources confirmed by Prospect Park and not some soap website like Soap Opera Network which has an history of making rumors that often turn out to be false.
I kept your latest edit intact because I was able to find a reference confirmed by Prospect Park that they are trying to have the show back for January 2012 and I have also added this reference next to your edit. But if there wouldn't have been any reference for it, we would, unfortunately, have had to delete such entry from the the article because such edit would have contravenes with Wikipedia's mission of verifiability.
Hope I was able to adress your concerns.

If Wikipedia isn't a crystal ball and doesn't include unverifiable information, then why is it that the Prospect Park information is listed right beside the description box and in other places around the article, but it isn't in the description box which would be the first place a reader would look to find the airing information for the show? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.93.197.127 (talk) 21:15, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article doesn't say that All My Children will continue online. The article is reporting an announcement that All My Children is scheduled to go online in January 2012. There is also a section on the article that deals about all things related to this announcement such as which actors have decided to go with the show online, and so on. All of theses informations are totally verifiable. For example, the article mentions that Ryan and Cara have agreed to move online which is totally verifiable, and not that Ryan and Cara will go online. That's an important distinction to make.


What is not verifiable is All My Children going online. So in other words, the Wikipedia article is just reporting an announcement from a well credible source (Reuters). Wikipedia is NOT reporting that All My Children will go online. Adding on the infobox informations about Prospect Park would be a claim that All My Children will definitely continue online which isn't what the article is about.
When you think about it, the infobox of a TV show isn't much different from the profile of a person. If you were writing, let's says, a resume about yourself, would you include infos about the future? Absolutely not. Instead you would limit yourself to informations concerning the past and present. The same thing goes with the infobox of a program on Wiki

Bud Kloss (AMC's 1st EP)[edit]

Bud Kloss (b. Longview, Texas) is an American television producer.

Personal Life: When he was 14 years old, Kloss heard the bombs drop on Pearl Harbor. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII. [1]

Education: After his service, he graduated from the University of Texas and Yale School of Drama.

TV Career: He started out producing and directing network sports and news programs. His credits include All My Children (Executive Producer; hired by president of ABC Daytime to work closely with Agnes Nixon; 1970-1978), and NBC Daytime's Texas (1980-1982).

He convinced Susan Lucci to audition for the role of Erica Kane as well as Tara Martin according to Lucci's All My Life memoir.

Awards & Nominations: He has been nominated four times at the Daytime Emmys.

Sherrell Hoffman[edit]

Sherrell Hoffman is an American television director.

After graduating from Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans, Hoffman moved to New York City in 1960, where she landed her first television job — answering fan mail for The Garry Moore Show. At the David Frost Show and at Jack Paar, Hoffman's mentor was Hal Gurnee, who would go on to direct David Letterman's late-night talk shows.

Her credits include Another World (1989), All My Children (1979-1988, 1992-1994 --re-hired by Felicia Minei Behr) and Guiding Light (1989-1992).

She has received 8 Daytime Emmy Award nominations. Her first was in 1980 and was shared with Henry Kaplan [4], Jack Coffey [5] and Jørn Winther. [6]

She died of anal cancer in October 2008 in Weston, CT at the age of 70. Kenneth Harvey[edit]

Kenneth Harvey is a Canadian/American TV actor and writer.

He died of cancer in 1979. He was born in Montreal, Quebec and died in New Canaan, Connecticut on June 6.

He was once the president of AFTRA. He married Rita Morely Harvey, an actress, who appeared on CBS Daytime's As the World Turns, The Edge of Night and The Secret Storm.

Acting: He played Dr. Emmet Scott (Harvey; Frank Latimore Peter Turgeon) on Guiding Light, Douglas Martin on Search For Tomorrow (1968-1974). Other credits include Kiss the Blood Off My Hands, Coronet Blue, Fourteen Hours and Fireside Theatre.

writing: He was hired by Agnes Nixon in 1975 to be a script writer on ABC Daytime's All My Children (1975-1979). [8] [9] [10]

Web series debut[edit]

Does All My Children qualify for the category 2013 web series debuts? I noticed that User:William569 changed my edit on 16 July to reflect its 2013 television debut, but it looks like All My Children has been distributed via web television since 2013.--DrWho42 (talk) 16:44, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's definitely a 2013 web series debut. Whether it qualifies for 2013 television debut, is still up for debate. I don't think it does, since it debuted online 2013, not on TV, and had already been on Tv by the time it first aired on OWN.Caringtype1 (talk) 22:47, 1 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AMC[edit]
