We should call them undocumented workers, this country was built by immigrants!!! We should never forget that. The chinese built the railroads, mexican immigrants to this day work hard on plantation fields, without immigration this country would not be the most powerful country in the world as it is today. Another acceptable term to be used to describe immigrants would be "undocumented immigrants", in my humble opinion. God bless all the hard working people in America.

The term should be "undocumented alien". "Illegal Alien" is a loaded term with a political agenda.

An activity is illegal, not a person. An alien is a person. We don't talk about illegal Lobbyists even though evidently some of them have broken the law. "Illegal immigration", is a descriptive and fair term, illegal alien is inflammatory.

To label a person as "illegal" is an example of dehumanizing a person for a political purpose.

Wikipedia articles in general seem to have an anti-"undocumented"-immigration slant even though in general this is a very contentious political issue.

Illegal alien is the term used in the statutes. 'Undocumented alien' came about in the Carter era as a more politically-correct term for them. If anything, undocumented is the term with a political agenda.

Moving day[edit]

The section on Methods is exactly the same as the equivalent section in Illegal immigration. It has been removed and a pointer made to that section.

Thanks for handling that re-merge. I've had this on my "to do" list for a long time. Illegal alien and Illegal immigration were duplicate articles at one point, though their content changed somewhat over the months.
