SA Army

Thanks for the encouragement ... I had been meaning to add a bit to the article (and I still want to add more - WW I must certainly mention Delville Wood and the Mendi; WW II can still be expanded and Sailor Malan certainly deserves a mention (and a seperate article !); the "Border War" also can use a lot of adds), but your comment did give me a spur to at least add the bits about the SA Divisions that I previously wrote articles about.

Only one problem though - I seem to have made the same mistake with the division numbering as I did with the SAAF squadron numbering: "1st Infantry Division" instead of the "1 Infantry Division" that seems to be the nomenclature used by most of my sources? Elf-friend 06:57, 30 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "{{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1

I agree to [[Wikipedia:Multi-licensing|multi-license]] all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:

Battle of Cassinga

I was still in high school when this all happened. I would glady look at the article and try improve on it. I came across a web site late last year which painted a very different picture from a cuban point of view. I had to translate from spanish. Anyway I will try see if I could find that site again. There is also a book about the F-1CZ Mirage in the SAAF service which I saw in CNA once and this also gave a different account, of the cuban MiG-23s, to what was force fed to us. --Jcw69 14:25, 12 Jan 2005 (UTC)

G5 howitzer

Hi Impi, Yes I found the information abou Bek'aa Valley on another wiki page, GC-45 howitzer, but also could not verify it. I've heard that South Africa and Israel worked closely on a number of top secret projects and I also know that Soltam, the Israeli heavy arms company, also make a howitzer very simular to the G5. Ok, this does appear to be valid. It appears some were placed on Centurion chassis to create the "M-77", in 1986. Further development was based on older Merkavia 1 chassis instead, making the Slammer and Rascal.
