More impact, better intro, external links. Jdorje 21:28, 11 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

1973's hilda[edit]

See this edit. There is some confusion about whether the sentence is true since the AHS name lists have no sources given. However if it can be verified it should be added back. — jdorje (talk) 21:03, 12 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hilda is present in the 1973 hurricane list for the Atlantic according to 'The World Almanac and Book of Facts' 1973 edition distributed St. Martin Press for the World Almanac Education Group. It must be noted though that it is usually released in the previous year so it may have been removed by the NHC in 1973. -April 13, 2006.

Hilda Picture[edit]

I found a picture of Hilda a day before its landfall. I put it on the 1964 Atlantic season page for now. Jake52

Great job! I put it in. Hurricanehink (talk) 14:46, 21 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Assessment[edit]

Reduced to stub. The article should have been a stub before, and not a start. A lot of the impact is trivial and can either be removed or merged into one large section. There is not nearly enough to justify subsections. --Coredesat 20:31, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I strongly disagree. This article is at least Start. I was contemplating making a few structural changes (combine some sections to make it less "stubby") to bring it to what I think is B class. Besides, Mitchazenia is currently improving the article, so it will only get better. This would be the best referenced stub I've ever seen. Thegreatdr 21:05, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well, to be honest, there's really only two sources. And actually, if more info can be added, the subsections for impact can remain. I'll re-up it to start if the impact gets some help. Meh, never mind, I thought on it and I have no problems with keeping it at start. --Coredesat 21:22, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rainfall graphic[edit]

Look for the rainfall graphic for this cyclone to appear online tomorrow. As usual, it will also have the highest storm total listed. Thegreatdr 21:13, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tornadoes spawned by storm[edit]

The storm spawned several tornadoes including an F4 in Butte La Rose, Louisiana and therefore I think there should be a new category "Tornadoes of 1964" and have this article included there, just like Hurricane Carla is included in the "Tornadoes of 1961" category. There were at least two other notable tornadoes and outbreaks that year including an F5 in Wichita Falls, Texas on April 3 and another F5 in Bradshaw, Nebraska on May 5. Personally I think there should also be articles for 1964 Wichita Falls tornado and May 1964 tornado outbreak. The May 5 outbreak also spawned an F3 tornado in Melrose, Minnesota. The deadliest non-tropical tornado occurred on May 8 in Mount Clemens, Michigan (F4 strength) where 11 people were killed. These events are (in my mind) notable enough to have their own articles, but I would like for other users to tell me whether they agree or disagree and for each user to explain.--Kevjgav (talk) 16:12, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
