Swedish slave trade[edit]

The article "Saint-Barthélemy" in the Swedish National Encyclopedia actually states that King Gustav III got the island as part of a "diplomatic deal" during his visit to Paris in 1784. In the Swedish slave trade article, you seem to claim that he bought it in 1783. In the Wikipedia Saint-Barthélemy article, the Swedish period is said to start in 1785. Could you please give your sources for the 1783 date, to facilitate a fact check? Alarm 13:21, 24 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Hello[edit]

Again welcome to Wikipedia. I worked some on the Kiss article with typo's and wikification. You worked well on it. Just need to ask you to again take a look at it. It is disputed but I am unfamiliar with Kiss's history. Another editor has made some possibly questionable edits after yours and that same editor vandalized the talk page which I reverted already. You seem familiar with that band so please have a look at it. Thank you--Dakota t e 17:20, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much! I will that a look and see what I can do. --Konstantin 22:32, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Although much what he added might seems kinda questionable, I am not myself that much familiar with KISS' history, although I'm a big fan of them. I just saw an extreme need to edit the ending, because it was so totally NPOV. I also question the contributions from an editor that vandalizes talk pages should be trusted... --Konstantin 22:42, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Category links[edit]

If you put interwiki-links in category-pages don't forget, to add the namespace. For example here you have forgotten the Kategori. Also it would be nice if you use the summary-box to say what you have done with edit. Greetings, Amtiss, SNAFU ? 14:04, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DUDE!!!THAT WASNT RIGHT!!![edit]

hey man!! that wasnt right u deleting my thng from the Adam Brody discussion! im putting it back up!!! Ms. Brody

I deleted it because:
1: Discussion pages should be used to discuss the article, how to improve them etc, NOT have general discussions about the topics. You should use one of the millions of forums on the internet for that.
2: It contained spoilers, and a lot of people don't like spoilers, like me...

The article you wrote, Bjornar Simonsen, is uncategorized. Please help improve it by adding it to one or more categories, so it may be associated with related articles. A stub marker or other template doesn't count - please put in an actual category in the article.Eli Falk 14:50, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. Sorry, i forgot. I also planned to but more work into it later, when it got time to think how to improve it. I will put it in a category right away. --Konstantin 15:39, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries[edit]

Hello. Please don't forget to provide an edit summary. Thanks, and happy editing.

--Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 17:18, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Of course, I will try to remember that in the future. --Konstantin 17:51, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You edited the supposed POV without so much as a comment which I had invited. I am considering removing the whole intro as none of it is cited doesnt that make it all POV!? Mattjs 12:03, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am sorry, but I am not getting your point. What are you trying to say? Please excuse me, English is not my mother tongue... --Konstantin 18:00, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Are you for real? Why are you editing english articles if you are not confident of the language? I had commented upon my addiions to the article in the discussions/talkback page and you made no comment whatsoever - even a polite "by your leave" or advisory - before taking a scalpel to the intro lines I added? Mattjs 14:35, 31 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I am not saying that I am not confident I english, which I am. I am just saying that I apparently my english is not advanced enough to understand your rambling conversation. You don't have to be an expert in the english language in order to edit english wikipedia articles, because even if you would make an spelling/grammar/context error someone else can correct it, as with every other error you may do when editing wikipedia. You do know that the idea of wkipieda is collaboration? There is no RULE that you have to leave a comment in the talk page before making any edit in an article, but in some disputed articles that may be advised. One of the most important rules of wikipedia is to be BOLD, make an edit instead of doing nothing at all. If it is a good edit, it will contribute to the article, if it's not, someone else can improve it or revert it. Anyway, sorry if I hurt your feelings by removing your paragraph. But we don't have to get into a lenghty discussion about this, do we?

Swedish slave trade...biography ?[edit]

Really good job Konstantin! as "the info in it is taken from parts of an assignment you made in history a while ago" would you please mention the biography for your study ? Thanx Doulcy 13:16, 5 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Swedish slave trade...an exhibition![edit]

thank you for the biography! are you aware of the exhibition En Dunkel Historia at the Sjöhistoriska museet in Stockholm ? still on until April 2007... http://webex.maritima.se/process.asp?content=endunkelhistoria&selectedID=jokola0b18bc5c7d27 may be it diserves a little comment and a link on the Swedish slave trade wikipedia's page ? Doulcy 18:49, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info! I'm gonna take a look at it and see if some of it can be used for the articles... --Konstantin 14:29, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Konstantin, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. Dimitris Xygalatas[edit]

I agree with you that he is not yet notable, with the relevant guideline being WP:PROF--not yet enough publications. . However, I changed your wording on the PROD. Please avoid using the term "vanity" even when you think it justified--people think of it as insulting, reasonably enough. Incidentally, according to WP:COI, COI is not a reason for deletion and people are not prohibited from writing pages about themselves--it is discouraged though, for good reason, and such pages need to be looked at carefully. I can't know whether the article has been written by the subject himself, but this is not against wikipedia rules. Incidentally, being a scholar of religion myself, I happen to have come across his work, and although he is indeed not famous, I do think that he is fairly known within his own field (besides, there are very few academics who are indeed known beyond their own field or sub-field). However, I do agree that some of the information in this article is unnecessarily lengthy, and I have edited it to remove it. --Neologistic (talk) 14:23, 20 January 2009.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
