History[edit]

This section lacks some information.

For example, it states that the club moved to New York City in 1909 and incorporated.::Where did the club move FROM? or::What city was the club founded in?

Also, has the club been at the same location/address since it moved to New York City? If not, what locations/addresses has it been at?

And, what about the AKC's involvement in World War Two with "Dogs for Defense" (aka "Dogs for Defense, Inc." and "DFD") AND the establishment of the U.S. Army K-9 Corps? (And by extension, the K-9 Corps in the other service branches?)

Just curious, but these are historical questions that I feel should be answered and included. 2600:8800:50B:6700:C23F:D5FF:FEC5:89B6 (talk) 03:01, 14 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Should there be an external link for more information on the AKC Humane Fund in other programs? Jhpearlson (talk) 21:48, 11 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Scent work[edit]

Hello Viobeatty (talk · contribs), I have received your email, this is the appropriate venue for such queries so I am copying it here:

Greetings,
Just logging in after a brief hiatus and noticed that this account undid edits to the American Kennel Club page. Would you be so kind as to indicate the reason? If there were errors, I would like to understand what you feel were in error. (I am an AKC licensed judge in the sport of scent work, having passed the organization's test and requirements to become a judge and have been active in the sport for nearly a decade; this is not intended to be a confrontational question, merely trying to understand what information might have been in error that caused its removal). Thank you in advance!

As articulated in my edit summary, WP:EL (and more specifically WP:ELPOINTS) says With rare exceptions, external links should not be used in the body of an article. Further, this entire section requires sourcing, as it is just a list of uncontroversial activities conducted by the AKC, their webpage is probably sufficient.
