new Portal:Korea[edit]

User:Visviva has worked hard to create a brand new Portal:Korea. Please take a look & contribute if you can. I think the new Template:Korea topics has the potential to be a more useful reference tool than categories or lists, if editors continue to expand and update it. Lee Ho and Zenit[edit]

Korean cuisine[edit]

It's good to have another editor here with expertise and interest in Korean cuisine. Now that you explained that gaesoju doesn't have any alcohol (confusing for a non-Korean), I added it in Korean cuisine. Why is "myeon" not in the name of the seafood version? It always appears on menus as simply "jajangmyeon" when it has seafood, not with the name you mention. Badagnani 08:25, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your substitution of chunjang for jajang is confusing, as the jar I have says (in hangul) jjajang, not chunjang. Can you please explain it somewhere? Badagnani 08:37, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, 春醬 is what I found doing a Google search. Hanja can be very difficult to find on the Internet but a good dictionary usually has the hanja and etymology. Some editors don't want hanja used but I feel it can provide a good etymology. That would mean "spring sauce," which doesn't make much sense. Badagnani 08:52, 8 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
