Wicked and original research

Hey, Tenfour. In the context of Wikipedia, "original research" basically means any information, or collation of information, that hasn't been previously printed in a reliable source. One of the basic rules of Wikipedia is "no original research". In the case of Wicked and the Necronomicon, unless the connection has been mentioned in an interview with Maguire or a major review of the novel (or something of that caliber), it's probably original research to say that the Grimmerie is the Necronomicon. Even if the connection has been discussed on a forum somewhere, that's not sufficient; it needs to have been mentioned in a reliable and verifiable source.

The rest of your additions to Wicked (novel) aren't original research because they come directly from the novel. The only other parts which concern me slightly are the identification of Yackle with Lurline, and the exact motives of the dwarf — I'd have to review the relevant passages in the book to see whether Maguire is explicit enough in how he resolves these issues (which, as I recall, are quite mysterious in most of the novel; it's been a couple of years since I read the novel, and memories are starting to fade.) If it's a matter of interpretation, and a reasonable reader could come to a different conclusion, it might be better either to qualify the statements more or leave them out entirely.

All that said, thanks for adding the "characters" and "objects" sections. If you feel like adding some more content, I've been thinking for a while that the article could use some discussion of the religions of Maguire's Oz (Lurlinism, Unionism, and the pleasure faith).
