Release[edit]

Diet Coke with Lime[edit]

Diet Coke with Lime (known in some markets as Coca-Cola Light Lime) was announced in January 2004 for a release in the United States.[1][2] It was sold all the way until 2018, and was replaced with Diet Coke Ginger Lime, a variant with added ginger flavoring, which was sold until 2020. It was also sold in Canada.

The drink was released in the United Kingdom in March 2005.[3] The drink was discontinued in February 2007 alongside Diet Coke With Lemon, in favour of Diet Coke with Citrus Zest, a variant that blended lemon and lime flavors.[4] In February 2020, the drink returned to the United Kingdom as Diet Coke Sublime Lime.[5]

The drink was released in France in 2004, and by 2005 and 2006 had expanded to Belgium, Fiji, the Netherlands and Sweden.

The drink was released in Italy in 2019.

Coca-Cola with Lime[edit]

Coca-Cola with Lime was released in the United States and Canada in the first quarter of 2005, before being quietly discontinued in 2006. The decision to market the product was based on popular feedback from consumers in 2004, with the release of Diet Coke with Lime.

The drink was also released as a limited edition in Australia in 2005, but proved quite unpopular with some larger retailers such as Woolworths and Coles, who bought in bulk, having to reduce the price considerably (50c for a 1.25 L bottle compared to around A$2 for all other varieties) in order to clear the product out. It was also made available in Fiji.

The drink saw a limited edition release in the United Kingdom during the 2006 Summer Season, after the success of Coca-Cola with Lemon the year prior, and was available in green bottles. Coca-Cola with Lime was also made available in Singapore for a time.

Coca-Cola with Lime was also available in Denmark and Sweden, but is now discontinued. It was also tested in the Netherlands as a limited summer edition in 2005 and is now not available anymore in that country.

Coca-Cola "Lime" is currently available to buy in Japan as of July 2021, in Romania as of October 2016 (in April 2019 is discontinued and replaced with Coca-Cola Lime Zero), in Poland as of March 2017, in Estonia as of June 2017, in Lithuania as of July 2017, in Russia as of March 2021, in Latvia as of January 2018, and in Austria as of July 2017.[6] The drink was reintroduced into Canada in January 2018, and has also been sold in Belarus

Besides being sold in bottles, Coca-Cola with Lime can also be created in Coca-Cola Freestyle machines.

Coca-Cola Lime Zero Sugar[edit]

Coca-Cola Lime Zero Sugar was first released in Romania in 2019, and released into Sweden and Portugal in 2022.

[edit]

An advertisement of Coca-Cola with Lime first appeared on television during the March 7, 2005 broadcast of American Idol. The advert uses Harry Nilsson's hit song "Coconut" in an edited and slightly altered form with the mondegreen "You put the lime in the Coke, you nut."
