Thank you![edit]

Thank you for your support on my RfA! When I submitted it, I was unsure of how I'd do, but the support was great. I promise that I won't do anything too stupid with the trust you've given me. humblefool®Deletion Reform 19:22, 2 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

AVIACSA[edit]

AVIACSA article was deliberately blanked because there is already an article on the airline, but titled Aviacsa. It was blanked as a quick and easy solution to deleting it. Please feel free to delete the AVIACSA article which is a duplication Ardfern 10:53, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thank you very much for the vote at the RFA. Greatly appreciated. Journalist (talk · contribs)

Hey there Sietse, thanks for the help and for taking over. I would have moved the "speedy" tag because of the other user's objections alone -- but if I may ask your opinion about VfD, would it pass? Just don't want to waste the people's time if it's not likely to pass; I'm no fighter and there are better things to do here :) (The article does meet the one criteria which I was referring to, doesn't it? "this criterion is mainly intended to deal with vanity articles created by their subjects or by their subjects' students, acquaintances or personal friends..." Wikipedia:Deletion of vanity articles).

I have to admit though, I have such a strong dislike for blatant self-promotions like this. I did go through quite a few Google hits for the person and found next to nothing of the material published by others (say if you exclude Amazon book entries from the counts...) - appears to be his self-published bios, entries for the conferences, or what's on his consultancy's web pages (in multiple incarnations.) So yeah... what say you? Regards - Introvert talk 20:34, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, point taken. I wasn't disputing the notability as much as was driven by the fact of the vanity of self-promotion, which, I recognize, is under the soft policy so there's is likely to be a disagreement... will leave as is (and watch for a while:) - Introvert talk 21:03, 22 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

Hi Sietse. Just a little thank you for proposing and supporting me on RfA. I did not expect to have so much community support, a great part of it from people I did not even know. I can now work serenely and hopefully gain the trust even of those who did not support me. Best regards, Sam Hocevar 15:19, 3 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks from we as well[edit]

You seem to appreciate honesty more than many of our fellow editors :-/. Thank you for your support and your kind comment. I'd like to encourage you to keep using your own criteria. Rl 11:25, 4 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

VWN en WCN[edit]

Beste Sietse Snel,

Thanks[edit]

It's good to hear from you. Thank you. Rl 19:22, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Antwerpian, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Frankly, despite your effort to salvage the article, it appears unlikely for this topic to make an article on the English-language WP. Kind regards. — SomeHuman 26 Jan2007 23:50 (UTC)

Thanks for your message. I see your point and don't object to this stub's deletion. Sietse 17:08, 30 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ingo Molnár[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Ingo Molnár, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. mms 16:35, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Heteronormativity[edit]

Sorry about that; I am using Lupin's Anti-vandal tool, and for some reason, your edit showed up and I mistakenly clicked the "rollback" button. I think I reverted my edit, if I did not, I will soon. Please accept my apologies! Happy editing, Neranei T/C 20:33, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Again, I'm very sorry. I hope everything is alright, good luck with editing! Sincerely, Neranei T/C 20:38, 27 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs[edit]

Hello Sietse Snel! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 1,621 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

Citation styles[edit]

There are two different citation styles, CS1 and CS2. The templates {{citation}} and {{cite conference}} (or {{cite journal}}, etc.) use different styles. Both are valid. Your edits to Topological graph changed a consistent CS1 citation style to an inconsistent style (switching two citations to CS2). This is in direct violation of WP:CITEVAR. Please never do this again. Please also revisit your last 50–100 edits (all of which seem to concern citation styles) to confirm that you have not done this anywhere else, and if so, to fix it. --JBL (talk) 15:52, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

(Having looked at more of your recent edits, I see that this problem is widespread. If you wanted to convert your efforts into something useful, you could convert articles like Multi-armed bandit and Boreal woodland caribou from an inconsistent mix of styles to consistently use the majority style.) --JBL (talk) 16:02, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Good day, Thanks for your feedback, I'm aware CS1 and CS2 are both valid styles. My intent was not to change citation types because of my personal preferences or to match other articles, but to show the conference / book-title properly and address the "parameter ignored" error message. Anyway, I see your point and I'll refrain from changing references between CS1 and CS2 in articles that don't use mixed styles already. Best, Sietse (talk)

I see -- I had not understood from your edit summary what you were fixing. For the particular error that was in the three examples I mentioned, you can correct it (keeping the CS1 style) by replacing (title=, book-title=) with (contribution=, title=). (I have done that in two of the articles on which I had reverted you, User:David Eppstein did the other.) All the best, JBL (talk) 21:06, 27 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Right, that's a better solution. I'll check later today if any other recent edits need this change. Thanks for the fix. Sietse (talk)

Thank you! --JBL (talk) 11:58, 28 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
