Untitled[edit]

I took a stab at disambiguating the "director" link on this page. From the content of the article, it appears that he is only a theatre director, not a film director or television director. However, the wording was a bit ambiguous. Please update the link(s) if his resume is deeper than I interpreted it to be. Rossami 23:20, 17 Feb 2004 (UTC)

There's been some vandalism at the bottom of the page— Preceding unsigned comment added by Zurkhardo (talk) 22:52, 20 January 2007‎

Hey, wasn't he in Dog Police? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.12.93.89 (talk) 21:16, 4 August 2007‎

Boomerang collector[edit]

The boomerang hobby was denied by Mr. Macy on Wait Wait today. Anybody have a source? Samatva (talk) 15:37, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is no source. It was added by a serial vandal. 207.191.23.51 (talk) 22:12, 11 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lutheran and Christian categories[edit]

I'm only removing these categories because they are not verified within the article, as far as I know. If you want to add that he is a Lutheran or a Christian into the article and then cite a reliable source then I have no problem with you adding these categories back.    The observation that he's a "Lutherany" kind of person (even if he says it), or even formal membership as a minor, or even both in combination, are insufficient. This source is unreliable and unlikely to be proven otherwise, but it's enuf reason for an interested editor to go looking for an RS one.

Citation Needed[edit]

Guys, chill w/ the citation needed stuff. There are five in a row, one after each sentence, in the first paragraph of the "Early Life" section. It's very distracting. Just put one after the last piece of unsupported information and move on. Lee (talk) 18:15, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Birthday[edit]

His birthday is different in the introduction and on the sidebar, under the image, needs to be corrected —Preceding unsigned comment added by 156.34.210.203 (talk) 21:10, 13 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Macy's trade unionism[edit]

I noticed that Macy's photograph is from a picket. Is Macy's trade unionism notable to present within this article. Fifelfoo (talk) 13:13, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Off-topic: "Making of ER" tidbit out of place here[edit]

This long "making of ER" anecdote has IMO nothing to do with the entry ("William H. Macy")... "His character in ER, David Morgenstern, is responsible for a sage piece of advice that has been handed down throughout the series..."

Origins[edit]

promoting his maryland hometown[edit]

He recently did a nice video to promote his hometown in Western Maryland http://www.mdmountainside.com/dynamic/nationalroad?camp=2011%20Spring&chan=Baltimore%20Sun&seg=National%20Road ```` — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.220.73.75 (talk) 16:52, 21 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The other WH Macys[edit]

Son William H Macy III?[edit]

Can anyone fill in the details about his son, William H Macy III? He is listed in the bio box as one of three children, but in the text of the page it says that he and Felicity Huffman have two daughters. In other places on the web it appears that William H Macy III is being removed... for example, a cached version of http://shelf3d.com/i/William%20H.%20Macy‎ shows that son William H Macy III was born January 10 1999, but the current live version of that same page only mentions the two daughters. Similarly, older versions of the Wikipedia page mention the son as well. I assume that this is due to some personal circumstance that the parents would prefer to keep private?— Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.116.99.66 (talk) 17:54-:55, 2 February 2014‎

Nantucket WH and other Macys[edit]

There was a Macy in the crew on the best known voyage of the Essex, and the name is not that common, so i did a search that included both the surname and "Nantucket", which gave me the (merely) tantalizing out-of-date rumor that the actor would show up at a Nantucket film festival. (He did, it turns out, which suggested the possibility the rumor was orchestrated for the sake of earlier buzz about a somewhat remote venue.) Somewhere in there it also occurred to me that Macy's (accounting, along with him, for over 2/3 of the visibility of the surname) is very much a northeastern institution, and i learned that the founder was a WH and a Nantucketter. Despite his southern childhood (c'mon, if your family's being in a country going on 4 centuries, your people should have spread out some), i speculate (esp'ly in light of chains of male descendants with the W as first initial and an H name as middle name) we'll find both a common ancestor and a more widely continuing clue-to-the-wise via a family tradition re male names.

Bethany College and 'veterinary medicine'[edit]

Bethany is a private liberal arts college with a student body of 650. It does not and almost certainly never has had a school of veterinary medicine. Is Wikipedia bound by the patent falsehoods that show biz people tell in interviews? Toyokuni3 (talk) 04:42, 18 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't he have three sons?[edit]

  • Doesn't he have three sons that he took to the Jurassic Park III premiere? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.110.195.254 (talk) 16:51, 13 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
