I propose an article title change from Anû Kathâ Îpa to Bald Eagle Peak (or Bald Eagle's Peak)[edit]

  1. See: WP:COMMONNAME
  2. This is an English Wikipedia, as in the prefix: en.wikipedia.org
  3. Many sources quote the English mountain name (some don't note "Anû Kathâ Îpa").
  4. Most readers understand English (including First Nations readers)
  5. Without the accents ("Anu Katha Ipa"), a Google Search fails to find this peak (this may be correctable)
  6. Edit: Please see Mt. Everest for a good example of how WP handles native names...

I won't be troubled if this proposal fails, but I think it's worth a try for consistencty and ease of use. BrettA343 (talk) 00:27, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Later edit: Have you seen this proposal @Blablubbs:?[reply]

I mean, you are probably correct on all points, User:BrettA343, but... the name is *so* offensive, and after all there is a redirect from Squaw's Tit to the article so nobody should fail to find it, and we do mention the Squaw's Tit name, bolded, in the first sentence.
Google Ngrams hasn't heard of either Anû Kathâ Îpa or Squaw's Tit, so it's a pretty obscure thing and hardly even has a common name as it's seldom written about except to talk about its name, I suppose.
Considering the totality of the situation, I'd let it lie. Herostratus (talk) 12:40, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
