What's going on with Nick's date of birth?

Yes! Nick Mason himself, through the medium of his book Inside out, states that it is 1944. I have removed the 'disputed' tag on the article and modified the 1945 and January 27 articles on the basis that the horse's mouth constitutes a pretty incontrovertible source. Not an Official Band Member?[edit]

For some reason I remember there was a time that he was not an Official member of Pink Floyd, some time around the recording of or just before "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" which is why his name and Wright's are smaller than Gilmore's in the credits on the album cover. Mason is actually the only member of Pink Floyd who has been a official member since they started in 1965. It was Richard Wright's name that was smaller in the AMLoR-sleeve since he only was a hired session musician for Floyd back then. Although Pink Floyd only was made up by Gilmour and Mason when AMLor was released, it has later been relived by Gilmour that booth Mason and Wright contributions were fairly minimal, only playing one or very few songs each. This was partly because the album started as a solo project by Gilmour, but he then (six months before release) decided to turn it into a Pink Floyd project. Pie Crust[edit]

What does Nick Mason have against pie crust? ("I'll have apple pie, without any crust")

My friend Seiko says that the reason for his dislike of pie crust is that he used to have a moustache and he used to get annoyed at the crumbs sticking to it. This was mentioned in an interview (if anyone would like to track that down). --gilgongo (talk) 20:49, 24 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

31st May 2006[edit]

Nick joined David Gilmour and band on stage at the Royal Albert Hall on 31st May 2006. He played drums on the final two songs - Wish You Were Here and Comfortably Numb.

Childhood music lessons[edit]

"He has claimed that he took some failed violin and piano lessons as a child." Is there any reason to doubt him? I would like to change "claimed" to "mentioned" unless a verifiable source gives a reason for doubt. VisitorTalk 05:46, 8 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Session Drummers[edit]

"Mason has been drummer on every Pink Floyd album (but not on every song; some session drummers have been used)"

Do we have any more information on this? Who are these session drummers? Why didn't Nick play on those songs? What songs were they? Information relating to session drummers should be and, as I recall, is included in the individual article for each of those songs. By the way, it isn't that unusual that session musicians are used on albums, if the band members feel that a particular band member can't play his part well enough, or in the style best suited for the song 80.213.191.159 (talk) 10:12, 10 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Career Section[edit]

I'm a bit disappointed in the "Career" section of this article, which seems to be simply a list of "bullet points" about things that he did mostly during and after PF.

I specifically looked up the article to find information about his training and playing career leading up to PF, but alas, nothing. Since he wrote a tell-all book about his time with the band, isn't there more information available to round out this section of the article?
