Asteroids named after people[edit]

3467 Bernheim: nicely sleuthed. I've added it to Meanings of asteroid names (3001-3500) for you. Urhixidur 01:09, 2005 May 5 (UTC)

Thanks, Urhixidur. DannyZ 05:23, 5 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Duplicate articles[edit]

This does happen from time to time (see Category:Articles to be merged). The usual situation is to add a {{merge|...}} template to the pages, and wait for someone to be motivated enough to actually merge the two articles. -- Curps 10:34, 7 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your assistance, Curps. --DannyZ 13:15, 7 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Nice work on galaxy! OvenFresh² 01:10, 30 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I hope to do more on that soon. -DannyZ 05:02, 30 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Asterism (astronomy)[edit]

Does putting it in a "See also" link section sound like a reasonable compromise?
B00P 04:52, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

In my opinion, "See also" would be more appropriate for links to other articles relevant to the Asterism topic in general while "Other examples" would be a better place for other examples of particular asterisms. I think either way would work though. --DannyZ 18:32, 28 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Will mull it over. Thanks.

You were exactly right about the 3rd ed / 4th ed business. I do have the 3rd, although I don't imagaine that for this article - as there are no statistics involved - it much matters.

I just never got around to listing Burnham (and Michanowsky - reference to the Sumerians) before. Incredible and sad what happened to him.

Thanks for keeping an eye on the article. B00P 15:35, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi DannyZ. I just wanted to draw your attention to the fact that somebody has added a PROD tag to this page and it is set to be deleted. You may want to reconsider the split from the amateur astronomy page. — RJH (talk) 16:50, 8 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Zodiacal light2.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Zodiacal light2.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 00:15, 10 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
