Video game proponent[edit]

This is a personal rant by one Wikipedia user, but written as if it were describing a larger movement. See No original resarch, Wikipedia is not a soapbox, etc. Taco Deposit | Talk-o Deposit 20:16, Oct 16, 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete: You know, I've never cared much about censoring videogames, but this article makes me want to. If passtimes are infecting imaginations to such a degree as to make people think that this is something to fight for, instead of poverty, environmental protection, civil rights, and the erosion of freedom, then I'm for banning videogames. However, I am not willing to believe that many have been so infected. Geogre 03:22, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
I can vouch that the majority of video game players are not fanatics (the same, really, can be said for just about any group). Some important issues apply to videogames, such as censorship, but it's delusional to say that videogames are in danger of being banned, or that they are more important than other people. --Slowking Man 06:19, Oct 17, 2004 (UTC)
I've been a computer game player since I got a computer, although I've never played those that people want to ban (always thought they should have explicit sex and not explicit violence). Heck, ever computer hardware upgrade I've ever done was for a new game. But, dagnabbit, people ought to get out more. Geogre 14:47, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)

  • Delete. I've been waiting for this one, actually. I've done extensive work on video game controversy to make it as NPOV as possible, including removing this phrase and link from the article. Incidentally, if I'm missing any POV, edit that sucker up for me. Ian Pugh 18:26, 17 Oct 2004 (UTC)
