How do you pronounce 174764-gonal number?? Of course, the proper pronunciation of 74764-gonal number is heptamyria-tetrachilia-heptacosi-hexacontakaitetragon, but how do you name a 100,000-gon?? 66.245.124.202 18:54, 19 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- For the sake of simplicity, we simply say "one hundred seventy-four thousand seven hundred sixty-four-gonal number" and write 174764-gonal number. This is a procedure that has been adopted by OEIS and MathWorld, and it makes sense. Now, the interesting thing about 1048576 being 174764-gonal is that it is also polygonal in three different ways too. I used to think there were no such numbers less than 10^20.
