Cash for planting bomb[edit]

I have removed the part where it says that planting the bomb gives the player $1800, for that has been removed since v1.5.

When the round time expires without the bomb being successfully planted and detonating, the Counter-Terrorists win (Not applicable to Counter-Strike: Source, when the bomb is planted, the round time disappears)

That is false - since a steam update the round time disappears in CS 1.6, too.

Duplicate Sections[edit]

There is right now two realism sections, both of them are cover similar topics, they should be either merged or one should be removed

Typo in Controversy Section[edit]

The quote: You can rehearse these type of massacres on simulators which are called video games and you can...therefor made more proficient in doing this." There is an 'e' at the end of therefore, should I correct this or is the quote intentionally spelt wrong?

Famous?[edit]

Counter Strike is famous for the culture surrounding it, which includes everything from professional gamers and leagues, to excessive cheating and disruptive behavior.

Can someone verify this sentence?

Source[edit]

1.6[edit]

CS 1.6 is referred to as a alternative name in the lead, and once in the article when comparing it to CS:Source, without actually ever explaining what it is, its significance, or how it differentiates from Source, skipping straight to the criticism of its differences. That's both unhelpful and unencyclopedic, surely there are a plethora of sources talking about it at length that could help expand this sorry article? -- jonas (talk) 00:53, 2 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Inclusion of "One of the Best Video Games Ever Made"[edit]

Since the editors here are being particularly picky and deleting my completely legitimate inclusion (As per its inclusion in the Wikipedia list of "Games Considered the Best of All Time", as well as having numerous citations backing it up), I'll leave it here for someone to pick up.

It is often cited as one of the best video games ever made. [1] [2] [3] MutedL (talk) 04:05, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @MutedL, couple of notes. If you want to add some of this content, it might be helpful to expand the Reception section first. The lead is supposed to reflect what the article says, and right now there's only one sentence about Gamespot's list. Second, it's inclusion on the article about greatest games isn't necessarily a guarantee that it gets added here--although I agree that it's helpful because there's a ton of links on that other page. It would be good to expand this page with some of the reasons why it's considered the best, instead of just a link to that page. Alyo (chat·edits) 04:26, 10 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
